Swatar is a small, mostly residential neighbourhood in the country of Malta which is located in Europe. The Republic of Malta is a Southern European country consisting of an archipelago that is situated in the centre of the Mediterranean. The closest major cities to Swatar include Valletta, Catania, Palermo, Messina, and Tripoli. The areas known as Swatar and Il-Qattus originally formed part of Msida and Birkirkara.

The nearest airport to Swatar is the Malta International Airport which is 3.4 km (2.1 miles) away. The 110 bus service runs from the Mater Dei Hospital through Swatar to Birkirkara. The 123 also originates from Mater Dei Hospital, runs through Swatar and connects the neighbourhood to the capital city of Valletta. There is also a nightbus service that passes through Swatar running in a loop from the nightlife hotspot of St. Julians.
