Msida or Imsida is a harbour town situated in the country of Malta. Malta is a Southern European country and the name of the largest island in an archipelago that is situated in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. The Maltese Archipelago is made up of three main islands: Malta, Gozo, and Comino. Filfla and Kemunett are very small islands that are also part of the country. These islands offer a warm Mediterranean climate with hot, dry, sunny summers and short, cool winters.

Msida’s economy still retains the historical emphasis on fishing, but it is not the only element of its livelihood. Msida is a university town, and the economy centres on the student population. The University of Malta, the Giovanni Francesco Abela Junior College, and a State Nursing Home is situated in the town. The Mater Dei Hospital is located in the outskirts of Msida, and offers medical tourism. There are several areas in Msida that offer options for office space. Misida is on the coast, so there are beaches to visit and enjoy. Nearby, the small capital city of Valletta offers one of the “most concentrated historic areas in the world”, as sited by the World Heritage Foundation. A walk through this area will take you to 16th century cathedrals and palazzos. Area restaurants include Garam Masala, a restaurant famous in the area, offering Indian cuisine and a relaxed and calm atmosphere. This popular dining establishment takes reservations. For Mediterranean dishes, try the Busy Bee or Fifteen 37 Café on the waterfront.

The closest airport to the town is Malta International Airport. This airport is in Luqa, Malta and is 5 km (3 miles) from the centre of Msida. There is bus service available by the University across from the skating park. One route goes to Valletta and the other bus offers destinations of St Julians, Sliema, and St Paul’s Bay.
