Dubai Cargo Village Area Guide

Dubai Cargo Village is the old name of Dubai International Airport’s Cargo Gateway, in the United Arab Emirates. The area is controlled by Dubai Airports Company. It is one of the most technologically advanced cargo handling facilities in the world, handling around two million tons of cargo per year. Over thirty airlines have offices in the village, operating flights to twenty European cities, and sixty Middle Eastern, Asian, and African cities. The Dubai International Airport Cargo Gateway is undergoing expansion.

Business Information

Dubai Airport is currently the world’s fastest expanding airport. Dubai Cargo Village, renamed to the Dubai International Airport Cargo Gateway, is located in a Free Trade Zone. It has been designed to reduce customs and administrative delays for the handling of cargo. Dnata is the handling operator of the air cargo terminals. The Cargo Village is the home of Emirates Airlines, a Mega Cargo Terminal and an express mail centre. The Cargo Village also houses new office space, facilities for airport administration, a new central utility plant, and a mosque.

Entertainment And Dining Out

Located nearby are the attractions of Old and New Dubai. Major points of interest in Old Dubai include the historic Bastakiya District, the Dubai Museum, Jumeirah Mosque, the open museums of Shindagha District, and many souks. New Dubai offers the Burj Khalifa, and Dubai Mall which are the tallest building and the largest mall in the world respectively. Transport Information

The Cargo Village has its own dedicated bus stop and is reachable by several public bus routes, including 4, 11A, 33, 48, 64A, 88 and C1. The GGICO, Deira City Centre and Airport Terminal 1 Metro Stations are all within walking distance of Dubai Cargo Village and provide convenient access to the Red Line.
