Primrose Hill is an area in north-west London, just north of Regent’s Park, south of Belsize Park and south-east of Swiss Cottage. Primrose Hill itself is a sizeable area of public parkland and open space, with the places nearby generally regarded as being some of the most desirable residential districts in London. Past and present residents of Primrose Hill include well-known actors such as Sienna Miller, Jude Law and Alan Rickman, prominent politicians such as David and Ed Miliband, and any number of other famous faces from London Mayor Boris Johnson to TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson. The areas around Primrose Hill are characterised primarily by very well-maintained Victorian housing stocks, and by great places to eat out, hang out and generally spend time.

Setting up your business here

Primrose Hill is best known as a residential district but it is also an excellent location for businesses. The area is very close to a number of very important parts of central London, such as Marylebone, Bloomsbury, Mayfair and Westminster. The area is also very close to a number of Tube stations and links to the London Overground at Camden Road. Companies based in or around Primrose Hill include the internet marketing business Visible Computing, the architects of the IPA Design Group, and the two TV and video production companies Picture Palace Films and the Shine Group.

Things to do in Primrose Hill

Perhaps the most obvious thing to do in Primrose Hill would be to climb the hill itself. Doing so isn’t too much of a challenge and on a clear day the hill offers some of the best views to be found of central London, as well as nearby Belsize Park and Hampstead. Meanwhile, over the Prince Albert Road and into Regent’s Park, you’ll find London Zoo and one of London’s finest boating lakes. Beyond outdoor activities though, Primrose Hill has an exceptional abundance of very high calibre restaurants, delicatessens and cafes. Among the very best places to eat out in the area are the Primrose Patisserie, Odette’s on Regent’s Park Road and Queen’s, which is a primarily a pub but which also has an excellent upstairs dining room. Other great pubs in Primrose Hill include the Prince of Wales on Chalcot Road and the Pembroke on Gloucester Avenue.
